YouTube Opera Widget

Setting up the YouTube Opera Widget allows you to access, search, and stream videos directly from your browser’s sidebar without juggling multiple tabs.

Opera natively includes YouTube directly in its sidebar panel. The step-by-step setup guides below cover the native integration, the experimental custom configuration, and third-party extension methods. Method 1: The Native Sidebar Toggle (Fastest)

Opera One provides one-click native access to YouTube directly from the sidebar.

Open Sidebar Setup: Open your Opera Browser and click on the three horizontal dots (Sidebar Setup) at the very bottom of your left sidebar panel.

Enable YouTube: Scroll through the list of available messengers and services until you locate the YouTube toggle under the streaming or entertainment section. Check the box or flip the switch to enable it.

Launch and Sign In: Click the new YouTube icon that appears in your sidebar. Click the profile avatar inside the widget to sign in to your Google Account so your history, playlists, and subscriptions sync seamlessly. Method 2: Custom Site Panel (Advanced Native Setup)

If your version of Opera does not show the native toggle, you can force the browser to treat the standard desktop or mobile site as a persistent sidebar widget.

Enable Custom Panels: In your Opera address bar, type opera://flags/#sidebar-site-panel and press Enter.

Change Status: Find the highlighted flag named Sidebar site panels, change its status from Default to Enabled, and click Relaunch at the bottom right to restart your browser.

Add YouTube: Click the three dots at the bottom of your sidebar, scroll down to the Custom Site Panels section, and click the Add (+) button.

Input the URL: Type https://www.youtube.com into the URL box and hit save. Method 3: Using an Opera Add-on (For Added Control)

If you prefer a designated browser extension with dedicated playback buttons or custom shortcuts, you can leverage third-party widget extensions. Sidebar for YouTube™ extension – Opera add-ons
